We have special arrangements with the Royal Mail which enables us to collect your parcels directly from the main sorting office here in Crewe.
Once in our premises, the glasses frames are carefully stripped down in preparation for repair. This means removing any glasses lenses, where necessary, and taking off any pads or trims - even removing the long plastic sleeving from sides in preparation for soldering.
On a typical glasses or sunglasses solder repair, e.g. a broken bridge, the whole job tray containing all frame parts and lenses is transferred to our soldering department. When the technicians are satisfied that the glasses frames are set up correctly they will proceed to heat the smallest area possible around the break. When it reaches the correct temperature, a small amount of silver solder and flux combination is applied to bond the break together.
When the cooling process is complete the glasses frames enter the polishing department where any discolouration is corrected. The spectacles are given a high polish to brighten up the frame. The glasses frames are then moved into our replating department where we use specialist electro-plating techniques to apply a gold wash. This is done in order to match the original colour. Once this is complete we are then ready to reassemble the glasses frames so they look as good as new.
We have recently taken delivery of a brand new state of the art micro Laser welder, this machine enables us to repair your frame with pin point accuracy and with virtually no discolouration to the frame, any colour or any decoration that is on the frame, this machine is a perfect addition to our repair facilities as it allows to to repair virtually all types of frame including the titanium frames.
Titanium is a very difficult metal to repair with only a few companies that claim to be able to repair them only to have them breack shortly after. We can now say we are able to repair approximately 98-99% of all titanium frames we recieve at our workshop and offer our full guarantee on the repair carried out.
